- All hearing protection used by any employee:
- Must be approved, of known attenuation type supplied by the company, or approved by the company Safety and Health Manager.
- Must be used as described by manufacturer’s directions and/or company designated instructors.
- Must be used in any work area where the noise level is found to be above the permissible levels of Table 1 below, after all feasible engineering and administrative controls have been implemented in effort to reduce the noise conditions of the respective work area(s).

- Portable radios, tape players, and similar devices that require earphones or ear plugs are strictly prohibited while working (break and lunch times excluded). This restriction especially applies while driving a company vehicle or operating any equipment.
