1. All hearing protection used by any employee:
    1. Must be approved, of known attenuation type supplied by the company, or approved by the company Safety and Health Manager.
    2. Must be used as described by manufacturer’s directions and/or company designated instructors.
    3. Must be used in any work area where the noise level is found to be above the permissible levels of Table 1 below, after all feasible engineering and administrative controls have been implemented in effort to reduce the noise conditions of the respective work area(s).

  1. Portable radios, tape players, and similar devices that require earphones or ear plugs are strictly prohibited while working (break and lunch times excluded). This restriction especially applies while driving a company vehicle or operating any equipment.
