- Wire ropes, chains, ropes and other rigging equipment will be inspected prior to use and as necessary during use to assure their safety. Defective rigging equipment is to be removed from service immediately.
- Job or shop hooks and links, or makeshift fasteners formed from bolts, rods, or other such attachments, are not to be used. When U-bolts are used for eye splices, the U-bolt will be applied so the “U” section is in contact with dead end of rope.
